Oooh, like a bonsai tree, but for water plants?
I kind of want to see that... adorable mini water-lilies and lotuses...

i guess? i mean, without aquatic fertilizer, lotus leaves are pretty tiny. i usually put some aquatic plant fertilizer every month or two and the leaves can get to the size of a hand. xD

You can probably find micro versions of lotus plants. The aquatic plant market has exploded the last few years. There are a lot more people who make planted tanks now. All of my aquariums have plants in them but to be honest I've never tried anything that comes out of the water like cattails.

Yeah live plants in aquariums and terrariums are a thing now. Lotus plants are the only thing I’ve really attempted to plant in the years. And black eyed Susan’s which are super easy. But my mom doesn’t like them cuz they have prickly stems so she’s asking me not to plant them this year lol. XD

I never noticed that their stems were prickly. I remember my mom having some in her garden when I was a kid.

To be fair, the cattails are not being attempted in an indoor water tank -they are outside, in a large stock tank filled with water that has been sunk into the ground to help keep the water temperature from heating up too much in the summer.
We'll see if it works.

I feel like cattails might get annoying. Bc of all that fluff just flying around everywhere. Lol

Eh, there's a stand of cottonwood trees a few neighbors down, and they already fill the region with fluff. If cattail fluff happens, it won't be anything new.
