Botting is letting a program do all your clicking for you. So that your Knuffel are fed/you find material/you find material/etc. even without you sitting in front of the computer doing all the clicking yourself.

That's fine, as long as you are the one physically doing the clicking. If the computer is doing that and you don't have to be sitting in front of the computer while the forums are being clicked on, then THAT's what's not allowed.

What's important is that there are actual people, who visit the kingdom to chat, play games, care for their Knuffel and dig o'er on Candy Island. The alternative, which isn't allowed, would be for an account to take part in these activities without anyone having to be there at all.

I just hope the banning and such gets so strict that just people accusing you of it can get you into trouble. People really need to stop with these things... It makes me sad to think there knuffels are not worth enough to them that getting a warning of losing them would make them stop right away.
Plus the new feeding features makes it so much easier to feed your knuffles fast and legit... I thought it'd end those needing to bot. Apparently not..
2016 edit: omfg I never noticed the responses or my own typo but I meant to
say I hope the banning and such doesn't get so strict that being accused
is enough to get in trouble. That way someone doesn't get in trouble just
cause someone else is mad at them or dislikes them or just suspects.

Could you reword that? The way I understood it, it sounds like you want people to get in trouble just because someone suspect them of cheating, and that people should keep botting even if they get a warning just to keep them fed, and I really don't agree with that at all and I hope that's not what you meant.
People will not get perma-banned on mere suspicion; they get in trouble only if the administrators are certain of wrong-doing going on. And people definitely should stop botting, even if there were no such threat. It's just wrong, and it's a strain on the server.
