I think it's more matchy-matchy now :mccute:

When in doubt I usually go for a plain-ish background and add other bg details.
That's sometimes easier than finding a bg that goes with a certain theme.

I have plenty of Plain Backgrounds and Basic Gradient Backgrounds and Simple Arch Backgrounds, to which I can add things like Courtain Drapes and/or Cotton Candy Beach plus a simple frame or border.
They are all Purikura items, and being made in only one color allows you to make the color combo you want.

Then I add some extra stuff behind the avatar, such as garlands.
Or maybe a pet, or even large wings that fill that space.

I see you are already using some!
That's it, it looks simple but so clean. I like that look.

Purikura is probably my favourite shop.
It has so many great items, and most of them are not the stunning bgs that catch your eye but the basic details that work very well with everything.

Purikura became a lot cuter in the last... 10 years. Lol, I kinda keep forgetting about it as well. :mcheh:

The first Purikura items had a lot of character. Which made up for the fact we had not so many avatar items, so they kinda worked.
But they were definetely on the busy side.

Since then Firn has created more delicate items, charming in their feigned simplicity, that allow users to make elegant avatars.
I really really like them. These are the kind of items I could really try to buy in all colors, because they are worth it.

Well, everybody has their own style.
I like that kind of items, which may look kinda plain on their own but are very versatile.
Same reason I prefer Bananarama over Lunatic Fringe. (Also it's cheaper, and that's good.)
