Oof that is really tough! I hope there's plenty of rest and recovery happening and he is getting on a pathway for that.

I'm fine personally, but also kind of a lie. Really reeling from how quickly gay rights and acceptance have become social issues, and it's not like it went away before it just felt like we were winning and now it's like yay authoritarianism...

Been working a lot but my projects are cooling off and I'm going on vacation after next week which I am very much looking forward to! I have not gone on extended PTO since August or September!

Other than that, have a contractor we're working with and looking at building a rental unit on the same lot as our house. Not sure if it will happen, many variables and factors but it is kind of exciting the idea we might have more space. They will replace a dilipidated shed we have on our property as well as extend the back roof of our house to cover the hot tub which will make it more usable when it rains.

He's back home and seems to be doing okay.
He posted a video of him petting the stray cat he's letting in his house.
My dad has never cared for cats so it's interesting of him xD

I'm going to DC to visit Ben's family. But now partly concerned about the pandemic re-surging. We'll see what's going on next week I guess! I'm not a hater of stay-cations by any means.

Yeah, I think COVID has grounded me at home even more than I was before :\

I actually had a shock yesterday...My dad has never been a cat person but this stray was regularly coming around and he started feeding her and letting her stay in the house. He's posted pictures and videos of them. He had posted a video the other day of him petting her and saying she was spoiled.
My mom and I said that the cat was good for him because he lives alone.
Well, he was looking for her yesterday and someone had ran over her and killed her.
That shattered my heart and I cried all day and still cry.

It was so unnecessary. Why did she have to die like that? It was like getting punched in the gut.
My Momo has been living outside and I'm afraid of her getting hurt.

Well DC ended up being fun! Loved visiting all the memorials and monuments at the national mall! Mostly we just spent time with my husband's family which was really the point of going. His family is so EMBARRASSING to be around, which like they're rich(?) but just like so out of touch, and I guess I come from a family of rednecks but oh lord lots of times where I used the phrase "the moment has passed" to try to change the conversation :mclaugh:
