A snood is sort of like a fashionable hair net. Do you remember the nineties at all? When women used to wear these pretty clips in their hair with sort of a lacey netting hanging off that contained the hair? That was a modern twist on the snood. But a full snood starts at the crown of your head and you pull all your hair back into it. They were made popular in the forties because...well hats started to loose popularity due to it being really hard to hold your hat on and dive for a bomb shelter in a blackout, women were working and needed to keep their hair out of machinery and...bombs...they made it really difficult to find the time to do those intricate hairstyles so a snood (or a turban) could hide that you had done nothing with your hair. Or you could style the front and tuck the back into a snood.

Yeah, although the word snood has now been applied to cowls as well for some strange reason "mcangry" But I adore snoods, I wear them all the time, so pretty and such a god send on a bad hair day lol

Nice talking to you too. Take care. I probably won't be on tomorrow morning. Got work. But I do hope to see you again soon.

I might have to get me one. But I usually wear my hair back in pony tails cuz it's crazy thick/curly and I get hot really easily.

Aw, sadness. Well, next time you're on come on over!

I'm back! :qh:
