Blossom is the newest member of the family x3 and just so happens to be my Easter chick lol

She (10% chance he) is a Golden Laced Polish x3

I can't wait to see them grow up <3

Btw what's the purpose of the red light?
I notice it in some pictures, and does not look like a random thing, seems purposeful.

ah x3 its a heat lamp, young chicks need a ton of heat for a while before they are start dealing without it :] she can be out of it for a while, but she will need the heat lamp for at least a week x3 (needs to be like 95-97 degrees for her)

Young chicks born to there mom, the mom has a very high body temp for the babies so the babies are always going under there mom to get warm when cold. x3

The light raises the temperature enough to warm her as a mommy-chicken would.

I assume you did not breed from your other chickens, just bought her new.

Yep x3 the chickens outside that belong to my bfs family are slikie mixes (we don't know what they are mixed with) one of them had a chick :) Little Cluck Norris lol and then there are my personal babies who are both indoor and put door chickens who are 100% slikies x3 (bought them from a breeder) and now I got my little Blossom who will also be a indoor outdoor chicken lol and I really wanted a Polish chicken x3 I want to make her (or him) a show chicken :)

Oh, and you don't know which breed they are when you buy them!

Gender wise yes x3 chicks are super hard to gender but they do try but it's never 100% lol the place selling them could say all hens but then you could still end up with a rooster xD

There is actually a funny story with the mixed slikies my bfs family has.

They had bought them with the seller telling them they were 100% slikies and at the time him and his family didn't know what real slikies looked like or would look like later so they took there word for it took a few chicks home had them age and even let them breed, then my bf took me to go get my own slikies so I could pick them out and raise them without taking them away from there mom and the seller told my bf that they had to get rid of there slikies breeder and had just gotten a new breeder and those where the slikies I got lol and once they grew up we all realize mine where the real 100% slikies and the ones they had gotten where anything but full slikie xD

I suppose the breeder did not know much of the trade either, huh.
Or he was a truhant.
