Question #69: If a friend were almost always late, would you resent it or simply allow for it? Can you be counted on to be on time?

This is a pet peeve of mine. I am always early or on time. I don't mind being early and waiting, but if I'm waiting after the meeting time with no message of the other person is running late, it depends on how late they are. I have family members we actually tell an earlier time to because she is always at least half hour late. It's like they know but they have gotten away with it so much they don't care anymore. Sometimes they will get mad because they will be the first person to show up but hey, better than waiting forever for them to show up.

Its always been a pet peeve of mine as well, but I've found that if someone is usually late consistently by a few minutes, I tend to just accommodate it.

I'm usually early. My mother is usually late. I don't drive, so she's my ride for a lot of things. So I often tell her to pick me up earlier than she actually needs to so that I'm still ok if she's running late.

I do the same thing, Sanssouci! Just adjust earlier. Or if I am meeting my mother I will deliberately set out late because I know I will still be there first.
I always love to be early. But sometimes I am late beyond my control and it really bothers me. Like if the train is delayed or there were slow people blocking the path for ages. So I am understanding when others are late, even if they are late every time.

I think it's the type of thing toi talk about, because small things like that create long time resentment slowly

I used to have a major issue with being on time. I once even lost a job because I was late too much. I've gotten somewhat more punctual as I've gotten older, though.

That being said, I haven't had many problems with other people being late.

I have a friend that is almost always late and I do resent it a bit.

I mean I know I can't be the only one able to set an alarm and be on time?

ugh I have a friend like that... it's a little annoying, she doesn't think that other people free their schedules to meet with her...
