Since I was a kid, I was into true crime stuff. I watched all kinds of shows and did research online and stuff.
I really find it interesting - especially the forensics.

I really don't know many people that enjoy this kind of stuff.
My mom and aunt definitely don't, my dad will listen to me but he's not really into it, and my sister is too young for a lot of it.

I've come across so many people online that share my interest, but I still never really talk to them.
I tend to watch them interact and read what they think.

I know I'm not a detective or professional, but I know some things from watching and researching this stuff.
And it makes me feel smart when I get something right.

"He had no visible injuries, but there was a little blood on his mouth..."
Me: He died from internal bleeding 8u
"A week later, the coroner told me he died from internal bleeding."
Me: \8u/

"She had a head wound but that's not what killed her."
Me: She died from the element 8u
"She died from the elements."
Me: \8u/

"She had two small burn spots on her body."
Me: Ah, a stun gun 8u
"They believe a stun gun was used on her."
Me: \8u/

My bestie recently got into true crime stuff, so I get to talk to her about it sometimes.
And when I find a case she doesn't know, I just spam her with information xD

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a detective.
I don't think I could handle that, though xD

Do you like true crime stuff?

A little bit. I majored in Criminal Justice. I used to watch a lot of Court TV (a tv channel from when I was in high school that used to do a bunch of true court/crime stuff). And I watch Dateline sometimes. But I don't have the stomach much more than that, so I could never make a career out of it.

I remember Court TV x3
That's where I watched a lot of stuff.
It doesn't exist anymore, does it xD

I've fallen so far down the rabbit hole that I can no longer see the light and have made myself comfy and don't wanna leave anyways.

I don't know why such horrible things interest me.
I don't enjoy it because I don't like people hurting and suffering - but I do love to learn about killers and why they kill.
I also love learning about people who had their lives stolen and to see that people really do care and people do matter to others.

I used to browse a real gore site and I've seen millions of photos from crime scenes and I'm desensitized to seeing them, but I'm the opposite when hearing about the victims and their loves ones.
I cry my eyes out for people I've never met.
It's not impossible to feel empathy for them - I only feel a fraction of their agony so I don't suffer the same but it hurts.
And they shouldn't be in pain and whoever died should still be here.

I can't look at anything gory. But I like to hear how people got away from bad guys or how the bad guys got caught.

I can't remember the victim's name, but she was murdered in a small village.
They were able to find her killer with some form of DNA analysis where they were able to determine that the killer was a male from a certain family in the village.
Only those specific males in the family carried that gene.
I remember sitting here with my mouth open because that is so cool 8u

They're closing a lot of cold cases now with new DNA processes.

They solved a Jane Doe's identity from Texas that always interested me because I'm from Texas.
I really hope they can find more identities.

I'm especially interested in close to home cases too.

Dateline did a show on Stacey Castor. She killed her husband and tried to frame her daughter for it and then murder her daughter. That one interested me because they lived very close to me.

And David Renz. He was a murderer/rapist who also lived very close to me. And he picked his victims randomly at a local mall.

And then my third favorite case is Roy Brown. I'm related to him. Basically he was not a good guy. CPS took his kids, he threatened to kill the social workers, one of the social workers ended up murdered, Roy spent 15 years in prison, then they realized he didn't do it, the real murderer killed himself, Roy got out of prison, committed a bunch of drug crimes, then died at 58. It's scary to think that a murderer was running loose for 15 years while the case was closed because they thought they had the killer! They did an episode of Forensic Files on that case; it's on YouTube.

I love true crime! I grew up watching shows like CSI and Criminal Minds so its not surprising that I listen to true crime podcasts at work now. My favorites are Crime Junkie and Morbid. I also love watching Bailey Sarian's videos.

I like true crime stuff, I think we're all interested in it to some degree. I notice that watching too much of it makes me feel a bit more depressed and I lose my faith in humanity.
I believe watching such emotionally heavy stuff really shouldn't be underestimated as it influences mood really fast.

I like reading comics about murders and detectives, but usually I'm too slow to understand how the crime happened...
