From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #86: How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death?

I wouldn't want people to be sad, but that won't happen.
People will be sad xD
I imagine my funeral will be pretty vacant because I don't know many people in real life.

"I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

Same here. I think it would just be my parents and my husband. So, if I outlive all of them, then there might not be anyone.

I wouldn't care if anyone at my funeral was happy or sad. Let them mourn my death or celebrate my life, but it would be nice for at least a couple of people to be sad about losing me. My family and I aren't close, and I only have a few close friends so if they die before me then I think the only people at my funeral would be my family and they'd be there just to see if I were really dead.

I'm not having a funeral. By the time I die (probably), there won't be anyone left to mourn.

I want my remains interred in a way that doesn't harm the earth. Either turn me into a tree, or plant me so I become mushrooms. or something like that.

I agree, I want my remains to be turned into a tree or something that helps nature. Have a funeral type thing then have my ashes put into one of those jars that grows into a tree.

Well, I already own the cemetery plot where I'll end up, but the funeral itself? Who knows, that'll be up to whomever is highest on the ordered executor list. They can do as they please, since I'll be busy off haunting the university campus listening to all those lectures I didn't want to pay for while I was still alive (unless it's guarded by the ghosts of old proctors? Well, I'll find out!). Oh! Or tracking down one of the albino trees. Don't want to disturb the root systems by visiting as an embodied person, but once I've shed the living corpse we're all stuck in until we die? I'm definitely going to go see one!

What was the other half of that question, again?

Is it important that people mourn me?

Only in the sense that I'd like my life to, on the balance, do more good than harm, and generally speaking people mourn the passing of folk who had a positive impact on them. So the only importance is as an indicator that I didn't waste everyone's time while I was alive, and actually helped some people out here and there or just made their lives better by being in it. So, you know, in that sense.
Not in the sense that I want anyone to be stuck grieving much... that's not something I'd wish on anyone I care about.

I hope that made sense. It did in my head, but then you have to turn thoughts into words before you can set them out to share with other people and that part, that part's hard. Hopefully the sense was preserved...

I want more of a wake than a funeral. I want people to have a party and celebrate me.
