Os nenos da variola (Smallpox's children) by Maria Solar.

It's about the first worlwide vaccination campaign, early in the XIX century.
The title refers to the vessels that carried that vaccine. Yep, children.

Location: Northern Kentucky
I'm reading a friend's book, he hasn't written a series and gotten them published. They are based around the area I live in, which is really cool, and I love supporting my friend who is the author. I use to work with him. His name is Robb Hoff and he has a series kinda werewolf related, fantasy horror. Pretty good, im on the 2nd book right now. :qh:

Supporting authors you know is cool!
My husband is about to publish a book too (not a novel, a scientific divulgation one) and we joke about only our friends will be reading it xD


I've started reading a compilation of indie short-stories called All These Shiny Worlds.
I've like a few so far, so I'll be looking into the authors later.

I'm now reading A Scanner Darkly, by Philip K. Dick.
I haven't seen any classic sci-fi for a whole, so I'm hoping this was a wise choice.
