I was trying to organize my books again (I know, I know. Ha!) and realized how many series I own. It was a surprise! Most of my favorites are stand-alones, but it takes a lot of stand-alones to match even one series, in the end.
So I got to wondering how common it is.....

Do you tend to read series, stand-alones, or a combination?

I prefer stand-alones. I have a bad memory. So, with series, it can be difficult for me to remember everything that I need to remember! It also really bugs me when books in a series aren't labeled as such!

I feel like I probably read a lot more series than stand alones.
I think the kinds of stories I like are usually too complicated for just one book.

That being said, I do like stand alones. I just don't find a lot that I like.

Basically all of my books from childhood are series (Harry Potter, ASOUE, Pendragon) but these days I try to stick to standalones. I'm trying to play catch up for a decade of missed books so series can be overwhelming!

I do have a couples series on my TBR, although I really try to stick to series that are 4 books or less.

Series, stand alones always feel incomplete and leave me wanting more.

I tend to read series more.
As, I prefer getting to know, and fall in love with, multiple characters and their world(s) in depth as possible. Additionally, high fantasy tends to be my favored genre for books and those books are usually series.
