Maybe this topic exist already and I missed it, but I wanted to talk about my favorite Manga Author. My first experience was with the Urusei Yatsura anime. From their Ranma 1/2, and I've read everyone of her manga's after Ranma. I really liked One Pound Gospel. So does anyone know who I'm talking about? Recently one of her series got an Anime Only sequel. Yashahime's been pretty cool so far.

I've loved her work for the longest time, but some of her works are more of a hit-and-miss with me. I did love Ranma 1/2, but the books are owned by my bestfriend so i can't read them all the time. :}

After Inu Yasha got an Anime sequel (that I didn't like), I think it's cool that one of Takahashi's best works Urusei Yatsura is getting a new Anime.

What? Urusei Yatsura is getting a new anime? Oh, that sounds awesome!
I just hope they don't get too politically-correct, you know. I'm not sure some of the recurrent jokes are acceptable nowadays...

I think it just started airing recently. I haven't watched it yet so I don't know how it is. I know the original didn't perfectly follow the Manga, but I loved some of the things they added.

I read the manga, but never watched the anime. It was not translated into my language, and back in the day I had no internet.
It was centuries ago after all xD

But the original work was quirky, silly and quite perv :mclaugh:

I've only watched Inuyasha, but I loved it, and it's still one of my most favorite anime to this day. It was the anime that inspired me to learn how to draw because Takahashi's style was very pretty and still is.

I have heard of her other works like Ranma 1/2, Mason Ikokku, Urusei Yatsura, Mermaid Saga, and Mao, but have yet to delve into them.

Absolutely recommended.
Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura have a crazy sense of humour, whereas Maison Ikokku is irreverent but not fantasy.
And the Mermaid stories are a completely different stuff, serious, mature and dark.
