Acutally guys , I read that wrong :mcblush:

I didn't see the part that the auctioner can not allow the person to retract! So I'm fine with that rule.

I guess my brain just blanked out on that part xD

Nah, it's no biggie. I just know this from experience so I figured I would mention that. My one business teacher from last semester in college has a tendency to do this. The only difference is is that he'll accept the charges if he happens to be the last one. So in light of that he doesn't put the bid too high in case no one's willing to try and out bit him.

Thank you, for taking the time to create these rules.

It can get frustrating when your thinking one thing is going to happen and something else happens.

It may be nice to cover HOLDING for a fixed price agreed upon in advance.
Since I have seen a few folks ask for items to be held then withdraw after long periods of time leaving the seller with an item for over a month and nothing to show for it.

It should be simple to just say once you ask for an item to be held your obligated to buy that item for the agreed upon price .

I love that their are sellers willing to HOLD items.
I do this all the time when shopping.
It's one of my favorite ways to shop here.

But I've had it happen before that I have something being held for me, then someone donates the item to me. I obviously don't want to buy the item being held for me then. In that case, I did ask the seller and she said it was fine to cancel my hold, but I would've honored my "commitment" if she hadn't said it was fine to cancel.

Puppet you made a great point:
That makes complete since & you were good and contacted the seller to get their input and explained the situation. I'm sure if you have a good reason to cancel a hold order you should be able to. Most sellers understand that sort of thing.
Things like that should be up to the seller on whether to cancel or not on a case by case bases.

Of course the worse thing that could happen is you buy the item and resell or gift it if you no longer need it.

My main point is:
I just hope buyers realize if they ask to have an item held they do their best to complete the transaction by the date settled on.

Maybe sellers should ask for the buyers to pay a small amount of the total in advance
that way it wont be a total loss ^^

It's very nice that sellers "hold" items for the buyers here, but it's their own risk to do so and there won't be any rules for that. Everyone knows that there is a chance that the buyer might not get the food needed in time or might get the item from someone else.

Thanks for posting up these rules, Firn. Clearing up things on the auctions really helped me out; I've seen and come across problems like that myself once or twice.
