Digging items
Originally only material was found in the Candy Island, but since April 2010 there is a chance to find Food Points and exclusive avatar items.

Regular digging items

There are 6 different versions of each digging item, one per element.
When digging in Air your Knuffel may find an Air digging item, when digging in Fire your Knuffel may find a Fire digging item, and so on.
The more skilled a Knuffel is in one element the more likely it is to find a digging item there, but in any case they are more rare than most materials.

Digging items are time limited and get replaced with another set after a time - usually about a year. Most of them have been avatar items.

hey there. ive come back to this site after years of absence, and i distinctly remember people telling me to level my knuffels in an element that was not their own.

but i dont remember why. do they give more xp or is it easier to find items? or was there no real reason?

i dont know. i really want to know tho lol

all my knuffels are leveled in the element that is opposite to them

@ VEE: If I remember correctly, successfully digging up an item in an area in an element that isn't their own would give more exp (not sure if it affects item rarity). Putting more points into an element would heighten the chances of digging something up from said element area.

@ Akili Li: If you're looking for the first release of Digging Avatar Items, they were released in 2010 :) [link to announcement]

Putting the stats into the "wrong" element would give the Knuffel more exp, as Eruvandir has said, and once the Knuffel hits level 100, I've heard some people dig in the Knuffel's own element so that they dig up FPs (FPs are granted by chance if the dig initially fails, so if you've got 100 points in the element you're digging in, you'd have no chance of digging up FPs at all).

On the other hand, if you put your stats into the "right" element, then you can put more than 100 points into it: 109, if I remember correctly. The extra 9 points of digging success goes into finding rare materials and digging outfits, Firn had said.

Also, welcome back. It's nice to see you again. And I see you've got your preferred username this time.

thanks you guys for answering my question lol <3

i was just like,, there was a reason i just cant quite remember it. xD

seems it might be a good idea to have some knuffels dig in their own element then but none of mine are leveled that way lol :') still i was wanting to maybe buy some old knuffels from ppl and they might be leveled in their own element so im glad that is a good thing too.

i think i was mostly focused on levelling my knuffels as opposed to questing so it makes sense i chose to do another element, but perhaps i will choose a few to be in their own element, just might confuse me when i go to dig haha xD

i missed yall <3 ill def be seeing you around
