I'd like to thank you for all your hard work Firn and Starkad.

I have to admit, I was one of the people who wanted another clicking event. If I'd had known it would've caused all this lag, I would have preferred the egg hunt. Mea culpa, everyone. :qhehe:

I have a suggestion for a future event currency gathering event. The Memory game and Whack-a-Wuffel are already set up so that you can only submit your score once every 24 hours. Would it be possible during a future event to have them give out event currency instead of food during a score submission? Of course, it'd have to have score limits like it does for food, but it shouldn't cause any site lag and should satisfy people who only have shorter available time slots for doing stuff.

I agree, I love the design of the items and new shop, and lots of thanks go to both Firn and Starkad for all of their hard work!!

I'm really sorry to hear that Firn's so upset about this!

I'll admit, I've basically given up on the event. I don't have the free time to click around the site, to be honest, and I'm not a huge presence in the forums. Heck, I'd be surprised if anyone recognizes me!

I do have my friends on here that I do talk to, and I leave the tab constantly open on the site, but I have other responsibilities that keep me from just wandering around the site, looking for eggs. As of now, I have 17 eggs, and still haven't bought a thing from the shop. So I just gave up on looking, and I'll have to see if I can't find some items for sale later on. I don't prefer it, but I don't have much of a choice.

I still prefer the one from last year, where there were 5 eggs a day to collect, and you just had to find those 5. Then I could devote a bit of time to finding them, and then go back to my other responsibilities. That seems to have worked out the best so far, it seems.

Thanks Starkad!
I bet it wasn't easy to try that the servers won't break down. Thanks that you gave your best and also thanks for the new server!

Thanks Firn!
You are such a nice person because you wanted to please the users of kofk by giving us this clicking event. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of clicking events and this event was my last proof of it, but still you didn't want to do it, but you still did as we wanted. This just shows that you care about us, how lovely you are. So this all is not your fault! And thanks for all the awesome items!

I have to admit I also gave up on this event. I had vacation the past 2 weeks, but I still couldn't find the time to click the eggs. I admit that I have been a little lazy in the first two days, but afterwards I gave my best and spent about 1 or 2 hours per day to collect the eggs. I decided to just colltect 850 - the half - so that I can get one set. I wish I could collect all, but I guess I will have to buy the rest.

Words cannot express how sick I am right now.
Are people really that stupid and reckless? I know, I know. Many people are stupid and reckless, but why here? Why do they even come here? KOfK is a small and kind community. The art is nice, no doubt about that, but what point is it to hoard thousands of items if you don't care about the site at all?
What I'm trying to say is: I understand that there are cheaters. There always are, and if I got upset about every single one of them, I'd need mental counselling soon. So, I accept that they exist, since I can't change it. I also understand that there are people who can cheat for things or steal them without feeling bad about it. I can't relate to it, but well, they exist. What I don't understand, however, is: Why here? If you cheat in an MMORPG, you can get better stuff, so you'll be stronger and may have more fun, so you might find this worth it (I don't). BUT ON KOFK?! I don't get it. I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

I know that the cheaters won't come here to explain it to me, but what about those people who wish they had cheated, since they couldn't get all the items? You can relate to the mindset of cheaters, so why not explain it to me and the others who can't?

Rest in peace, Alessandro. You won't be forgotten.

I know you always do your best to please everbody, and I'm very sorry that I have to complain about the event, I'm not blaming you for the way it turned out. You take opinions into account and that's a very good thing.

firn wrote:If you prefer to just sit in front of the computer and mindlessly click the same page to collect eggs that is your choice, but it is not necessary. I have stated before that I am extremely busy with my final thesis for university so I am hardly around here, only reading threads in the feedback and support forum, replying in the announcement threads as well as PMs and from this alone I have collected over 300 eggs by now. If I had been active at my usual level on KOfK, which would include chatting with people, feeding Knuffel, browsing through other people's threads to see what they write, then I would have easily been able to collect all the eggs needed for this event without doing any extra work.

1700 eggs are needed to get all the items. Without lag, it takes me about 1h30 to get 100 eggs, if I only browse and without "using" the site. If, like you said, we don't have to change our kofk gaming habits to get eggs (and just be there a little more), it would take me about 3 hours/100 eggs. Since we need 100 eggs a day to get the full sets, I would need to be on the site 3 hours a day for two weeks.
That is just too much for me : I have my studies going on and it's a pretty hard time for me as well right now.
I finaly managed to get all the items ( :qh: ), but I'm really tired and I can't stand the egg pop up message anymore. I did it because I love the items, but it wasn't fun AT ALL in the end.
I really feel like the event is for people with time and fast internet. And even without the lagging issue, I think the time and effort needed for this event is too much. The event isn't impossible, just like you said, but it becomes impossible if your internet isn't that fast.

firn wrote:Some people just want stuff for free without any or little effort at all, and this is just not how things work or should work. It's completely pointless for starkad and me to put weeks of hard work into events where users basically get the items for free, log in once a day for 3 minutes and that's it.

That's right, the items shouldn't be too easy to get. But I would prefer to use my brains to solve a puzzle or something, instead of making it a competition of "who can spend more time on the site ?". I really enjoyed the other event that have been there since I joined, because I felt like I was doing something.
There are events on a lot of sites on easter, and most of us study or have to go to work. It's not easy to find several hours a day for this : like I said, I litteraly spent ALL my free time here to get all the items.

I know I have a lot of complaints about this, but, since the "catch a bat" event, I've been REALLY hoping we wouldn't get pop up events anymore. I'm enjoying my little gardening experience way more (+ chicks are awesome :chick: ).
