I just wear my flipflops around the yard outside. Just so I don't go barefoot.
If I try to walk barefoot now, everything hurts my feet u8

i've never gone barefoot anywhere, not even at home. at home, i have at-home slippers, the only times i don't wear them is if i have socks on......or i've misplaced my slippers lol. i can't stand walking around barefoot lol.

As I always saw it - my ancestors likely were barefoot a lot so I wanted to be barefoot too 8u
Running free...in the field...with no shoes on...

I've stepped on a lot of things.
One of the last times I chose to go barefoot, I went in our garage that had been recently worked on and I knew there was probably debris in there.
I had to go in and do something so I thought it'd be faster just to go in without my shoes.
I stepped on something. I don't know if it was a piece of wood or a nail or what but it hurt.
I reached down and pulled it out and threw it so I don't know what it was.
I was bleeding a lot, though xD
I limped into the house and told my mom my foot was bleeding and she made me go stand outside because I was bleeding on the floor <<

I've stepped on nails, I've stepped on glass, I've stepped on thorns, I've stepped on stickers, I've stepped on bees/wasps...

yeaaaaaaaaaaaah and THAT is why I always wear shoes lol. I'm afraid of that one chance that I step on something sharp and pointy. One time, I happened to walk barefoot on the carpet upstairs and stepped right on a needle. Hurt like AF.

So slippers/shoes have always been the smarter choice lol.

I remember stepping on a nail and I just reached down and pulled it out and kept going. And I was still a kid.

And shoes won't always save you. When I was a kid, a nail went straight through my shoe and it came close to going into my foot.
The shoe saved me, but I learned stuff goes through shoes too 8u

When I was a kid, my family went to this little creek. The water was free flowing and there were cliffs you could climb up on and stuff.
Well, I went with my parents, my aunt and uncle and my dog and I stepped on a piece of broken glass. I remember my foot bleeding a lot.

Did you know there's an artery in your foot and you can bleed to death if you get cut there and don't stop the bleeding 8u

gosh that's scaryyyy. still, its at least sliiiiiiiiightly safer to have at least SOME protection against sharp objects if you wear shoes. i still remember how that needle went through my foot, it was........decidely painful lol.

I've recently had broken pieces of stick stabbing into my flip flops xD
I walk around the yard, putting food out for the cats and sometimes it'll feel like something is stuck on the bottom of my shoe and it'll be a sharp piece of a stick 8u

We have these...I call them stickers but they may be called burrs?
I've stepped on so many of those and they hurt so bad.
When I was a kid, I'd get them stuck in my feet and I'd be screaming and crying and refused to let anyone remove them because they hurt.
They spring up every now and then, but not in our yard.
My mom removed every last one of them because she didn't want me stepping on them.
I remember I had the brilliant idea to run barefoot at school for PE.
I was going to run around the football field barefoot because I thought I would stand a better chance of not falling.
WEEEELLLLL guess who else had stickers. My school. I stepped in a huge patch of them and got several of them stuck in my feet xD
I asked this girl to go get my shoes and instead of cutting across the field, she took her time walking around the field >Bu

I've also been stung by cactus needles u8

They can be hard to see too so it's easy to step on them.

I used to live in this crappy motel and they had some cactus patches for decoration.
Well, they had flowers on them and my dad was carrying me and he said "You want me to get that flower for you 8D" and I was like "Yeah \8u/" so we both got filled with needles xD
