Back in the day we had a dog, and once my dad told me that during their walk she suddenly chased a wild rat and completely shreded it to pieces...

I'm just glad I didn't see it with my own eyes
My grandma has mixed feelings about mice and rats. She's scared of the wild ones, but when I kind of surprised her by buying pet rats (while living with her) she scowled at first but then she looked at them and said: "aww, what cute little faces! But those tails though... XP"

But in her summer house we once had a wild mouse and it ran right past my grandma and she let out this high-pitched sound that I've never heard her make before (or after). I asked what the hell happened and she told me it was a mouse and I was like: "aww, where did it go, I wanna see

"
She got so scared of that poor little thing and I was laughing my ass off about that screech my grandma let out
We had some pig flu come back (or something else that was dangerous for pigs, idk) a few years ago, some scientists discovered they were transfered by boars and the governent decided it was a great idea to start a massive hunt and shoot all those boars to stop the disease while the hunters and environment specialists (not in the government, obv) protested that it won't solve the problem of the disease but will really shake up the ecosystem. I think they did it anyways.
I hope the cat won't suddenly become a hunter, although she did try to catch a few birds once in a while, but I don't think she actually managed. I'll be really careful with my rat baby though. She's an older rat now but I want her to live as long and as happily as possible.
HAHAHAH, that aunt XDDDD
