Job applications are brutal, tedious, and insulting. Same goes for internship applications.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

I don't see why a resume just can't suffice for most applications. And then an interview with all the other questions.

Probably because it's a computer actually going through the applications and not a human actually looking at it.

My last job at the bank only had paper applications to fill out in person lol. They didn't ask for my resume or anything which was kind of refreshing tbh after applying everywhere else online.
That was an interesting job because it had sooo much drama though (two employees taking extended "lunches", 3 people popped out babies and quit one right after another, the "branch" location that was 5 minutes down the road had sewage backed up into it multiple times). I do miss working there just for the entertainment.

Yeah, but I hate that too. Stupid algorithms always screw me over. I can't ever pass the damned personality tests.

I enjoyed my last job a lot. I was in a call center and I helped people with their internet and phone issues. I like helping people.

It was just so far away. Like a 45 minute drive to get there. So I missed a lot of work and ended up getting fired.

Even though I had some of the best statistics in the building. (Except for attendance/ sticking to schedule)

Ooh I remember one job had me take a math quiz, but it was timed, and at the time my family had the crappiest internet provider so everything was slow and it took so long to load the next question I wasn't able to finish it =|

Wow I don't know if I can handle that kind of job tbh. I remember audibly sighing into the phone once the person on the other end told me who they were (they thought it was hilarious because they knew how awful they were) because they would argue with US! THE TELLERS WHO CAN SEE THEIR ACCOUNT! about his account and money and why US THE BANK was off on his total BECAUSE HE ALWAYS ROUNDED HIS NUMBERS! We would be on the phone for hours with him. Or hours when he came in just going over everything. And he would yell at us about it. Ooooh he had a favorite teller too so if she was there he would always wait for her.
One time someone yelled at me because I activated something but it still had to go through another system and not instantly and the person yelled at me that they were "going to close my account." I think I made them angrier by agreeing they should. lmao.

Oh if I had do do a math test I would super flunk. Lol.

There were some bad customers but overall it wasn't horrible. Like most customers were pretty understanding. I also worked very late so I didn't get a huge influx of calls. Which was a big bonus to working super late. That and a bit of a pay bump.

I did have one person threaten to shove a modem up my butt. Which I was not into, thank you very much.

My husband worked at Starbucks for a long time and he also had awful customers.

I remember one places had me do a math test in the interview...with no calculators. And the guy interviewing me had someone else in the office and was chatting with them. I said effe it and decided I didn't want to work there.

I think people need to work retail or customer service for a bit because oh my gosh, I don't understand how someone can get that angry over something so little.

No calculator is dumb. Like 90% of people have a calculator on them at all times. What kind of job was it?

I agree. Everyone who can work should have to do at least 6 months in retail/food industry. Learn some kindness.

Yeah. Getting places is very difficult. Like in my area there's a bus available but it only comes around like once an hour. And the stops are so far apart. Like at least a 10 minute walk apart. I cannot walk that far anymore.

I think places need to be more understanding of that. Not everyone can afford a car. And even if they can, they break down.

It was a cashier position so like...the register did all the math. I ended up being a cashier somewhere else that DIDN'T give me a math quiz lol.

I live somewhere that you can't get anywhere without a car. There are sidewalks everywhere, but to get to the (overpriced) grocery store you have to walk across a busy-ish highway.
