Popo hit the jackpot there XD
I remember having so much trouble remember family connotations in Hindi, some of them were similar to Polish, but then it was getting too specific and too weird and then you end up with a headache and an angry professor XP
@light: my bf keeps saying that English makes no sense, but I think it's because Polish is so complicated and there's not much common ground. So even though English is a very simple language, it might be really hard for Poles to learn it. Often it takes sweat, blood and tears for Polish students to master it, unless someone is deemed "talented" in languages.
So it's really what Popo said about language branches.
I began learning some Spanish and I can already see that it's so much easier to understand for a Polish speaker than English is. And that's because many grammatical structures are alike. English is so simple its confusing to some :')

I heard that our grammatical structure is way different than most languages and that's part of the problem. And I also heard we might use a lot more sayings and stuff? I'm not sure about that part.
I wish that I was talented at languages. It would be a lot easier to learn new things. I'd really love to learn Japanese. And probably Spanish. That one would be more useful. I really suck at studying though.

In 'Merica people barely speak English. lol.
I have the time to study independently but not the focus. I really wish that a doctor would put me on some medicine to help me focus. I have ADD and brain fog so it's really hard to learn things. Brain fog is something people with chronic illnesses have, where constant pain makes your brain not work correctly. You have difficulty concentrating and everything is a little foggy.
I forgot, what languages do you know?
I just know English. I know a tiny bit of a few other languages, but not enough to hold any sort of conversation.

Can I enter the raffle, please?
I have brain fog/mild confusion sometimes, too. I don’t have much pain, but I have tumors that cause problems.
I’d love to learn languages. Unfortunately, I always hit a wall because of the speaking component (i’m deaf). I’m focusing on bettering my writing, since it seems more productive.

I'm glad that you're not in a lot of pain! That's good!
I have constant pain. Today is a pretty bad one. I'm extra hurty today.
I'm hard of hearing! So many things in common!
Do you know any sign languages?
You could always just learn the writing/reading part. That would still be pretty cool.

I’m so sorry. :c Recently, i’ve been getting this intense stabbing pain right below my eye. I shut down mentally when it happens.
I’m conversational in ASL, but my atrophied hand and vision issues make it relatively useless. Have you heard of live transcribe by google? It works really well; it does exactly what it sounds like. In real time!
I love the asl stand/understand joke.
I’ll have to find a good book. Maybe i’ll try Chinese or French, since I have friends i can bother with questions.

Can I also enter the raffle, please :) ?
Actually, if you are a native English speaker, Dutch is actually pretty easy. So is Swedish e.g. Because the languages are actually quite close.
In Swedish there are also terms for maternal and paternal grandmother/grandfather and uncle/aunt.
