I'd change dentists if the usual one makes you stress. Don't suppose the hospital one deals with everyday dentistry? xD

Sadly enough they don't. I asked.
It's a shame because all the dentists at the hospital know me now. It's hilarious because I at least exchange greetings with pretty much the whole department, including the big boss, and all the other patients are wondering what the hell is happening and why this strange foreigner seems to know everyone. XD

I do don't I?
Unfortunately, my usual one is one of the few that don't drag things unnecessarily. I asked everyone I know and most places here make you come at least twice for a standard cavity when my usual guy finishes it in a single visit.
So in the end I'd rather go less and power through. That and looking around not knowing what kind of person I'll find might trigger yet another extreme reaction. So I'm kinda stuck. (and hoping that my dentist at the hospital will open his practice soonish XD)

I did ask the hospital for recommendations though but, obviously, they can't really recommend anyone else but the guy who referred me to the hospital in the first place.

Routines are good. They make us all feel a bit more in control, and that's nice.

I have posting routines, mostly because I can only have leisure internet in the evening.
But now I have two days off, so I'm hoping to be able to be around a bit more.
Just a little bit.

@Kuuki:
Are you expecting the hospital dentist you like to open a practice, or is that plain daydreaming? Because it would certainly be nice for you knowing a dentist before hand and then being able to go to him whenever you needed.

Plain daydreaming, for now at least, because unfortunately my wonderful dentist at the hospital is doing his residency so definitely not opening his own practice in the near future.

I am also totally aware of how weird it is to feel less stress with a less experienced dentist XD

I dunno.
Sometimes you feel more comfortable with someone younger. And you definetely do with someone nicer.
I personally have a strong preference for health providers who explain things in detail to their patients, and that makes much more a difference for me than their experience.

@Kuuki, Doesn't seem strange to me at all. After all, it's not so much the experience (or lack thereof) that makes you prefer him, but his personality and attitude! He might just have a soothing aura, who knows lmao

Also, that actually is really funny. I've never known everyone anywhere. Just the one or two people I deal with hahah.

Maybe it's just that he talks a lot which in turn distracts me.
And we get along well in general.

Well, in that case, more than me knowing everyone it's more that everyone knows me. I'm a very white French girl in Japan, and more often than not the only non-Asian in the whole hospital. I stand out a lot.
That and I'm the kind of person who will at least say hello to everyone I know and for me knowing someone means recognizing their face so that's quite quick.

I totally see what you mean.
I wish more people would explain a bit more in depth. Granted, I ask if they don't but it's a lot more calming if I know what to expect.

See, I have the opposite problem
Complete strangers recognize me, likely due to my hat being so distinctive and the fact that I worked at a theme park for several years with it tho the headband that really makes it pop was only added partway through the '19 season

That's pretty funny though, and also really wholesome. I tend to avoid eye-contact when I see someone I recognize who hasn't seen me yet because I'm awkward like that. xD

It's a lot less wholesome when you know it's because my mom has been yelling at me in my youth because I didn't.

I'm from a very small village so in her eyes if I meet someone in that village it doesn't matter if I know them or not SHE knows them and THEY know me so I have to say hello. (Unless it's someone she doesn't like obviously. Like little me would know XD)

Now though I don't mind the habit.
