The time is up after 23 hours and 59 seconds. It takes about one second to click on a chest! So you can continue walking pretty much in a day. The tasks may take a bit longer to complete, but not more than a few minutes and there are just 5 of them! So, even if you take a few minutes per task you might start walking the ghost ship at, let's say 2pm your time, and will end up being able to make the last step at maybe 3pm on the last day.
The whole process should not be delayed by more than an hours within the 14 days.
If you say "But I can only spend 10 minutes on KOfK each day and I can only spend them here at the exact same time each day" then I will have to say the same I tell all people during events - Events are here for you to enjoy, but at the same time, they are here to raise activity on KOfK and if users simply don't have the time to be here for more than a handful of minutes a day, then they cannot participate in the events like others can.
You have 30 days for the ship, there are 14 stations, even if you want to walk the ship twice you have TWO whole extra days, that's 48 hours extra, so even if you continued walking there one hour later each day you would not get into any problems to walk the ship even twice!
