I have a lot of speedpainting videos as tutorials.

I also have a lot of tutorials from DA.

I'm not sure if they work for me.

I thought a video would because I learn by watching.
But they're "speedpaint" and are too fast and give no oral explanation.

Unrelated to this group, but I hope I finish the pirate today.
I've been working on it a lot and I keep finding mistakes
and fixing them and redoing the lineart.

I dont mind doing a live stream to show some stuff I know if anyone is interested.

I'm feeling a little better.

I finished my art, but you can see it in the pirate thread or on DA.

What is a live stream?

It is where you go to a page where you can watch my desktop and listen to me speak to you while drawing. :}

Do you use Ustream? I signed up for that though We only used it once for my step daughter to try singing..anyway.. I think that would be neat to do that one day/
watch someone else do that!

Moi: I just finished
My entry for KC's Contest..
I started with to small of a image size and I felt awful I could do better on the eyes
Err so I ended up drawing a head shot of Zia for fun and trying to remember to start large.

What sizes does everyone draw at in the beginning?

I have to draw on a large canvas because I'm not good
at detail when it's medium or small sized.

My latest one was like...1800x2000 and I still had trouble with details ._.

I draw Vector art so I can draw stuff at whatever size I want it and export it at whatever size I want it Bwahahah! XD

Example:
Image
The white box is my canvas size. I tend to ignore that. XD

Moi - the drawing looks really nice.
I like the eyes.
How long did it take you to draw and color it?

KC - I wish I could do that in photoshop xD
if I paste an image bigger then my canvas it cuts it up,
and if i move it i get only what i can see, unless i (strange
way around it) select two layers, and then ask to move
the selected canvas, then I get my full image moving around
my screen. Your line art looks really good. :<

I read where alot of people use line tool if
photoshop to make there lines. and the lines
look normally very good. But i also heard a girl
say "and this year is when i stopped using the
line tool and started drawing my lines myself.
not a newbie anymore" so... I am stuck
wondering if me doing it the way I am..
is better? x n x; no clue.
I also read to make my canvas 5kx5k, and
that is five times bigger then what i normally
use. bigger then image, longer it takes if you ask me.

Bah Forget what people say. There are alot of things people say where, "Oh you can't make good art making it this way or using that tool." But end the end, There are awesome artist that use those methods. XD Like I use prismacolor markers to do my marker drawings. I would have people come to me at conventions saying, "my friends tell me if you use prismas you can't make good art, but you prove them wrong. o n o; " thats where I tell them that the Artist makes the art, not the tools you use.
So if you rather use the line tool, then who gives a crap, as long as it looks good and people like it. XD

I know some artist make there line work in flash then export the lines to Photo shop. I don't know if you have flash or not though. XD

funny 'cause every traditional artist I know that uses marker suggest prisma, or compics. xDenerally they mix i. (copics, water color, pencils) I really wish to learn those methods. Though recently anything I draw on paper is poor.
I've heard people doing their lineart in photoshop then moving into SAI. Cctually, most people who use SAI (that I know of) move into photoshop for backgrounds (if it isn't scenery)

... /wants to learn SAI too.
one day, i'll draw something i want to color on paper, and just print it out.
though, i agree with you KC. If you make art that is beautiful... so what if
you use sharpies and draw it with Black color pencil!
