Wait, what? I knew how it was pronounced. I had two sensei, and listened to cassettes when I was taking the course. Not to mention that I still watch a ton of anime.
Well, not trying to guess, exactly, but if our accents are off, it's a big hint that you're not from around my area.
I live in California; right in LA (as close as you can get to Hollywood). I'm sure you can figure out my speech patterns if you pop in a few movies or turn on the TV. Aside from pronouncing "Charlene" as "Sharlene," I don't get many comments about any odd pronunciations on my part. I speak like everyone else around here. O__o
