And indeed, some legends arise because of unexplainable fear.

I don't know, only because many people say they've seen or done this or that I don't believe them until I have proof.

Do you think mermaids also stem from fear?
Because stuff like the monster in your closet, the vanishing hitchhiker or even la Llorona, Bloody Mary, slender man etc. sound like urban legends than anything to me.

Actually most of my family has red hair in different gradations. I myself am dark auburn (most people think it's brown) with green eyes (The only one in my family!).
Blue and Gray eyes are more common in my family though.

I love Urban legends, and anything from mythology. :}

Red hair is awesome. There's one person in my family with red hair (or more in my grandma's family, it's one of her nieces)

I love mythologies but I'm rather ambivalent about urban legends. they can be inspiring storywise but other than that I'll probably either roll my eyes or shrug at them. I'll say 'ew, nope' at best xD
