I have 3 right now but only 1 is a dedicated explorer the others rotate in the position.
Basically I don't think it is safe to sent Tyalin out exploring on there own.
They aren't Starling who is killing it as my soul warrior. :}

I have 2 explorers all the time. Sometimes one will switch to their second job, but I always have another villager fill in with the exploring. I have 2 herbalists and 2 animal husbandry villagers, and 2 warriors also.

You need to have a warrior as there are item's you can only get from winning battles.
But when you have a warrior you'll also will need a blacksmith.

And not like me, the only decent warrior I had was also my blacksmith for the longest time. :}

Oh man I'm so far behind on upkeep i might as well just build new houses
But I'm too lazy to gather the wood

Yeah I really should take a day to do my upkeep. Hadn't had any time this week. :}

blacksmith's seem really .. expensive? if that makes sense

Don't make your Blacksmith the same villager as your Construction worker either. When you need to make repairs you have to decide which is most important.

Looking at all the villager models I want, I'm going to need something like forty villagers.

So I shouldn't really be worried so much about juggling villager careers, I should just be trying to gather FC for more villager slots.

But, it's so expensive, I don't think I'll ever be able to do it. So maybe this way is best afterall
