You mean a course at a Japanese university? :o I'm about to graduate soon and I won't do graduate school unless it's required for my job, so I probably won't get any chance to study there soon. ^^;

I was hoping that once I graduate, depending on where I live, I may be able to take classes part time at a nearby university. :)

I follow so many manga too. xD; I'm always sad when I catch up to the msot recent chapter since I may have to wait forever for the next one.

Have you ever watched Kyoukai no Kanata?

You may call me Hikari, Hika, Soul, or anything else you come up with. (Cute art by Nankuii! <3)

I meant at your university ^^ There are plenty of civilian courses in Japan as well, of course. Language schools and the like. But yes, that sounds like a good idea. Take classes when you can and where you can.
I have a Japanese practise thread on here if you ever feel like joining :3

Oh, I know what you mean. I'm always very sad when I have no more to read... And because I read quite fast I binge of series too... Probably the only one I', very earger for every month is Skip Beat. I got so into that one... I remember I didn't like it when I first read it, but it's such a good manga in it's own rather unique way.

I haven't watched Kyoukai no Kanata. I just looked it up and it looks interesting... But I don't generally watch anime (it takes too much time) and it's a light novel rather than a manga, so I probably won't get to experience it... (unless it's reeeeeally good? In which case I'll read it)

Hello Hikari, Jessi!

@hikari: (mind if I call you that?) I love Haikyuu! The characters are adorable and it's a story brimming with the feeling of youth *seishun!!*

@jessi: (again, mind if I call you that? XD) Although I haven't read the novel, I found the anime rather interesting and enjoyable. Kyoukai is good if you like character development (under the surface light-hearted comedy, you will see a range of the characters' emotions, the motivations behind their actions and how they change throughout the series). There's also supernatural and action on the side.

Hello guys!

@Saloiq
I haven't seen Tsuritama yet but I've checked its opening song on Youtube and I must say, it's quite entertaining for me lol

@Hikari
Oops, sorry. I tend to get very excited sometimes that I forget to put a spoiler tag on my post. Gomen! Speaking of manga, I'm only following Naruto at the moment. So forgive me if I can't converse with you guys in terms of other manga titles >.<

@Jessicat
You're welcome and no need to rush in catching up with Naruto. Just take your time :) Oh, its really interesting that you know how to read/speak the Japanese language. I only know the basics though with some help from google lol I will check up on your Japanese thread ^^
[edit] errr... Jess, where's your Japanese thread located again? Can you provide the link? I can't seem to find it lol

@Zesurin
Ahoy, we have a new Otaku in the house. Welcome aboard and hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Haikyuu!! is a really solid series. If character development is something you enjoy, I think you should give it a try Jessi. The art is great, nobody has superpowers, and the protagonists aren't always the winners.

I've found that I actually really enjoy some sports series (despite having 0 interest in sports) because they're so character focused. XD I love seeing characters grow and develop. I love Haikyuu!! and Yowapeda, though the latter does suffer from things dragging on. Haikyuu I have pretty much zero complaints with.

Tsuritama is actually one of my favourite anime ever. I loved the portrayal of Yuki's anxieties, and showing how he grew with the other three boys. I think if it had been more than one cour, they could have showed more of the side characters. I'd say it's more slice-of-life than sports though..

Oooh Haikyuu! I'm a huge volleyball fan and I think I should see this anime too. A local tv channel here is currently airing it every Saturday morning. I should catch that :)

Speaking of Sports anime, I have a few favorites of mine.
- Slam Dunk (Basketball)
- Prince of Tennis (Tennis)
- Wild Striker Hungry Hearts (Soccer)

Off topic:
I hope we include in our prayers the people of Nepal who were severely affected by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the entire country on Saturday morning. The tremors were also felt in India, Bangladesh and Sudan.

Here you are! I'm Japanese, and grew up in Japan, so that's one thing, but I really admire the efforts of people trying to learn from scratch, so the thread was something I made to help others.

Zesurin - Call me what you like! Maybe I'll look into the novel. Sometimes I do feel like I ought to read more in Japanese. It's just so hard. I practically read for a living so my eyes DX

Lacrimosa - I'll keep that in mind :) The only sport-like manga I read are Butter!!! and Again! but they're not strictly sport either. I read Prince of Tennis when I was much much younger (because I had moved to England and had very little choice but to read and borrow what people had) but it gets so repetitive...

Thanks a lot for the link and for granting my request on translating the lyrics for me :) I'm happy to meet a Japanese like you on board! If you don't mind me asking, who is Japanese? is it your mom or your dad?

Oh by the way, I adopted your wild knuffel Pyon. She's really cute! Can't wait to level her up!

Thank you for buying Pyon! I'm aware that she's a little bit ordinary an uncreative, so I'm so grateful to everyone who's buying her.

My mother is the Japanese one ^_^
It was no problem translating. Stuff like that is pretty easy and quite fun.
