What I said was perfectly sensible, however it may not have been perceived as such. I do not see the reason for revealing a character's entire being prior to a roleplay. As I mentioned, some details are alright, so as for your partner(s) to gain a small sense of understanding.

Perhaps it is that I trust in my partners to create a character that, as you mentioned, "fits" with the roleplay world, and as such do not feel the necessity to be spoon-fed their character's personality?

By the way, I am not a "she."
:mcwink: Casey is a unisex name.

Forgive me if I come off as cold.
I tend to approach conversation in a specific way.
It is as I am.

This. XD
But it usually only works in very well thought out settings right? The more you know the setting, the more background you can squeeze out? O:

I suppose.
In most cases exact details on history or upbringing is not important for the roleplay's sake, but rather for the character's creator to better understand motivation, thought process, etc.

Everything that happens/happened to the character makes the character who s/he is. It's fun to have them recall some childhood incident or tell an interesting anecdote about themselves. I take note of what I find out about the character to prevent inconsistencies. ...it usually fails when the roleplay is really long though.

Yes, but I suppose what I'm trying to communicate is that there really isn't any point to revealing a character's backstory, history, or entire personality in a bio or paragraph or anything prior to a roleplay. The other person, your partner, does not benefit from it.

This is while keeping in mind that I trust my partners to create characters that will "go" with the roleplay, and thusly fit into the plot, setting, etc.

I think we need a new topic.
I don't yet know if anything I'm saying is being properly digested or if it matters at all to you.

It matters to me, but I guess that's pretty hard to see.

Anyways...new topic...hm...

Well, since Casey is a unisex name and he/she seems to have no intention on disclosing his/her actual gender, I guess calling Casey either he or she until he/she tells us a preferance should work fine... Since the alternative "it" comes off as a little insulting to me... So, yay? XP

Lol, Celeste seems to have sparked a conversation on the base requirements for a roleplay with Casey... P:
I don't think you're trying to disagree with eachother... What you're saying doesn't really contradict. I think you're both just trying to make a point... That, or I'm mediating non-existant invisible conflict again P:
