Aw, chronic illnesses just suck :( And it's a pity that it's so difficult to get proper suppport... My bf's mom was talking about that yesterday at dinner as well (she has a chronic condition that is better and worse at times, too) - how she would have had to apply for any disability during the times she was feeling the worst (and actually hospitalized) because during the good times she doesn't stand a chance. But I mean, that kind of sucks, when you're already in a particularly bad state, that's not actually when you want to wrestle with bureaucracy as well, right?

Yea that does suck
I wish I was able to work even if it was just part time or seasonal job

and yea the system is really screwed
I was in a predicament where I was applying because I needed the money
I'm glad I applied because at the end of the 2 years I needed it more than ever
I had lost my father shortly after applying and also had to have major surgery
that helped a lot with my case
guess I got lucky ^.^'

I mean, I could really do with the money. I'm practically killing myself with the work I'm doing. And if I could get even a week to just sleep and not work, that would probably solve half my health problems.

But yeah, I mean, on my bad days I wouldn't be able to make head nor tail of the website.

I do Art Commissions
It takes me a while to get them done but I take pride in my work
most people just want free art tho
so I'm usually just getting a few dollars here and there
like less than $20 a month
I'm looking to sell prints and stickers tho soon

Damn Jacob that really sucks T^T I wish you could get a break too

That sounds nice though. Something you enjoy and can take pride in is always good. Hopefully the prints etc will work out. I'd be interested to hear about that process when you do set it up :D I've kind of wondered about how artists source printers and other things like that.

I did manage to take a few days off this week in fairness. Back at work today and the next couple of days though. Of course everyone is trying to make me celebrate and not understanding that as a result, I'm now up at nearly 1am finishing off some stuff that still leaves me behind on where I need to be on my schedule >>

Yea I don't have a printer at the moment
I'm waiting until I get my own place before
I really invest in that type of stuff
I have a printer but it's a tad bit old
I only really use it to scan
But as far as prints are concerned
I've found a website that's kinda Cheap
another artist on twitch told me about
It saves me the work and cost of having to
buy ink and paper constantly
downside is it could take a while to get to my customers
since it has to be shipped to me before it can be repackaged
I got my orders recently and I'm impressed with it
the Cheapest option they had is still good
the more expensive one is a few cents extra
so I may end up paying for the more expensive one to give away as prints
also a copy for my own records
The only issue that I had is that I kind of want
them to be on thick postcard like paper
and instead they were basically printed on photo paper
They have an option to do DIY post cards which may be great
but instead of $1 and some change each it would end up being
about $3 each and there's an order minimum of 5
I'm not going to need 5 copies of 1 person's art ^^'
I think I may just buy the photo prints
and buy some card stock and tape them together
then I can order a single print or multiple different ones
the stickers I will also be using the same photo prints
and then just putting them on a double sided adhesive sheet
and cutting them out the way I want
then Tada! Stickers!

The Printing site is MPix
Most of the stuff you need for stickers can
be found in the scrap booking section
Card Stock can be used for many things
you can put a blank piece between each print
so that they don't stick together and are less likely to get bent
On amazon you can even buy them in the precise size
you want instead of buying them in a big sheet and cutting it

Oh that's interesting! Especially that postcards are more expensive than card prints by such a long way. I wouldn't have expected that since we're always told to think of photo prints as a 'luxury' type thing with being glossy and all. But then again I guess there's a lot of demand for photo prints so they can bring the prices down.

Happy New Year everyone!!! :)

I wouldn't have expected postcards to be more expensive than glossy photo prints either :mcgasp:

Anyone got any crafty new year's resolutions?

I don't, really, but I've bought supplies for another project... Make that three skirts that I have everything in the drawer for and just need to assemble :mcblush:
I washed the new fabric today already, though, and this one is a paper pattern, so I won't have to go through printing and glueing the pattern (which is honestly the only thing keeping me from starting the other skirts, I hate that part -.-). I hope I'll manage to do this one fairly quickly :)

I finally managed to finish the engraving embroidery I've been working on since last April :qshock: What a long job that was haha. I guess my crafting resolution will be to actually get something done. I still have a sampler I've been working on for probably the same length of time. Plus after that I have more engravings printed up on fabric ready to go, as well as those machine sewing projects of ripping up dresses and putting them back together that I talked about a while back. Still need to fix my machine before that can happen, though.
