Yeah, no point in spending money on something you don't immediately need at a time when it's tight, that makes sense.
I keep wanting to start my new top project, but I haven't found the time yet. With coming home at 8 pm everyday during the week I never feel like starting something in the evening. I wanted to get started this weekend, but somehow I ended up just being lazy and not doing much at all, besides some laundry, some shopping and playing a bit of skyrim. Hm. Hopefully next weekend!

Sounds like you just needed a quiet weekend! No shame at all in taking one :D
I actually have a list of "things to buy when I have money again", it's of course a large percentage of craft/DIY/home type of things haha.

Ha, I finally got started! At least a little, I glued the pattern together :D
Not sure if I'll start cutting fabric during the week, but hopefully during the easter holidays I will find a bit of time to get this really going :)

Well done :D
So far I have done... nothing extra haha.
Although the other day I did modify the sleeves of a dress I was wearing. Sadly nothing complicated, just cutting open the seam because they were made for Chinese customers and I am not at all that body type XD

I realized that I had forgotten to prewash the fabric -.-
I put it in the laundry basket now, I hope my bf will put on some laundry during the week so that it'll dry in time for easter...

Well, small modifications is something at least :)
And I guess you must be extra busy right now with the wedding planning oon top of your usual already big workload, so it's understandable that you don't have much time for crafting at the moment.

There is going to be lots of crafting coming up for the wedding XD

OMG also I didn't realise until I went for a shower and tried to wash off something that turned out not to be dirt - I have a massive yellow bruise across my arm from where that sleeve was :/ It's really stiff and tight and the fabric had a kind of rough edge so it ended up making a bruise when I was lifting my arm up. And that was even with opening up the seam. Who would make such a torture device intentionally?

Oh yay, are you planning to make lots of things by yourself?

Wow, I wouldn't have thought it possible to get bruises from a friggin sleeve :mcshock: What kind of sleeve from hell was that??
Good that you at least opened it up, otherwise your arm would probably be about ready to fall off now at that rate :D

Yes! the table decorations for example, and the favours. Haven't quite figured out how we will do it though. I'm thinking I may end up with a lot of things that I have no idea what to do with afterwards XD

I knooow, I wouldn't have thought it possible until it happened. The material is just so unforgiving with this stiff band around the hem. I'm thinking twice about ever wearing that dress again now.

Sounds nice! Wait kind of table decorations are you planning? I guess you could keep some to use as actual table decorations for special occasions (anniversaries, for example ;)), but probably not all of them... Maybe you can take some stuff apart afterwards and reuse the materials for other things?

Sounds super unpleasant! It must have been pretty uncomfortable to wear. What kind of dress is it? Is it nice enough to wear it anyway because of the looks? Maybe just for shorter periods of time to save your arms? :D
Can you maybe rework the sleeves more fundamentally to take out that stiff band?

They will be nature-based, like plants and branches and flowers. I'm deciding how to do it though. At first I thought it would be neat to have real living table decorations, but then I realised we would have to kill them to make them work. So that's not good. Anyway, plenty of time still to figure it out.

Maybe. It's really super pretty. It has embroidery all over of pink and white flowers and the outer layer is a super fine mesh so that it looks really gorgeous. I'm worried that taking off the sleeves would unbalance it, and the mesh is so
fine that it will also be hard to take off the band and not have it ruin the sleeves anyway. I might just have to think about it some more.
It actually wasn't too uncomfortable when it was on, just a bit restrictive. I wouldn't even say that it hurt, just couldn't raise my arms fully haha.
