Tell that to my students, who are overwhelmed by the tiniest amount of homework!
Age and experience give you certain perspective indeed.

Also when I had the time I did not have the money, now that I earn the money there is no time to do anything.

Eh, I view it as being very consistent the whole life long -when you're a kid, you resent the homework you have because it eats into your precious free time.

When you're an adult, you have even LESS free time so you realize how very right you were to resent things that take it away....

See?

Your perspective didn't really change at all....

Just, as you get older you start to realize that while it's important to recognize the barriers to what you want (for kid-self, that's homework), it's also important to have gratitude for what you already have.

But, honestly, your base viewpoint of "free time is important" never changed, now did it?

That's an optimistic way to look at it, Akili :mccute:

@Amura Right XD I work quite often with university students who come to do an internship with me. They're always complaining about "oh I don't have time to do xyz because I have lectures" and I'm side-eyeing them thinking, kid, you are about to realise that this is the last time in your life you will have free time, unless you're unemployed and stressed XD

Also, it's super annoying that we spend all our prime years working and then in retirement, when we have both money and time, we're too old to do anything 0_0 My mother and father in law are both retired now since the pandemic and they are basically broken lol, she can't even walk very far due to having had a knee replaced and needing a hip replacement next as well. They spent all their lives acrruing money, now the best they can do is to pass it onto their children and grandchildren since they can't enjoy it much themselves. They even sold all their holiday homes to invest in things just for inheritance rather than enjoyment, as they can't really manage air travel anymore.

That's such a pity.
My parents are a bit better, but they already feel too tired and exhausted to really travel.
My in-laws are in a better shape and they travel a bit though.

I wish I would travel now.
My son is old enough to handle some travelling, and I really crave seeing new places. We've saved enough money and we will have holidays.
But now with the whole covid situation we don't feel like it.

Well, got the hair, now time to start over again.

I can't wait to travel again. I was planning a trip to Japan again in either Summer/Autumn 2020 or 2021 (wasn't sure yet) back in 2019 literally after I got back from my trip there. Clearly that hasn't happened. I'm just glad to see they are easing up on their borders for international students and businesses.

Congrats, Rubie! What are you gonna quest now?
I may have enough for the Hitomi Hat, which is what I was after, I'll hit the shop later :mccute:

We had in mind some simpler - travelling abroad is always trickier.
We actually were planning a trip across the country, visiting all the towns in which we had lived - to show them to my son. Quite cool in its own way.
But even so we face the same problem: regulations are complicated.

On March 11th my husband has an event on a nearby city and we are going with him.
We'll be renting an apartment and stay two nights.
That's as adventurous as we get. :mcgloom:

We're trying to plan a get-away for April. Trying is the key word here. I hope we can. We both got the booster recently too so it should be possible.

SO AM I! Now I can finally go back to job searching with hope (since I'm looking in tourism and I know I won't find anything until they're desperate for someone who speaks English)

Going for the very next item, the Ubgor Shirt. lol. At least it's not 700+donuts.

That sounds really fun though. Maybe you'll be able to do it sooner rather than later.
Honestly if I go anywhere and spend the night away from home, I would consider that a little trip, but nah, most times if we go somewhere around 3 or so hours away we will always return back the same day.

@Kuuki: OH that sounds really fun tbh. Hopefully it will happen a lot sooner!

As soon as I see they have the borders open for tourists I am booking my trip and hoping they will not close again lmao.

That's the kind of situation we can only hope about.
They always change everything so fast and not always very logically that I haven't dared to book a trip out of the country ever since the pandemic started. Meaning I haven't seen my family since 2018.
