wisdom right here. once someone in my college said that they didn't feel the college was as safe for lgbtq as it should be, and this guy began arguing with them saying that it's worse in the rest of the country. and i was like, just because it's better than the rest of the country doesn't mean that there's no room for improvement. why should you stop improving, or pointing out things that could be better, out of some messed up sense of 'gratitude' that you're not persecuted here? the guy who was arguing was literally saying that they should be grateful and shouldn't complain.

piece of shit. thankfully others were quick to call him out, especially as he wasn't lgbtq himself and as a cishet male had no idea about the experiences of lgbtq in the college.
i'm glad i'm privileged enough to be able to find and have access to safe spaces. wish the world could become one gigantic safe space.
