I think I do remember that the original first Digimon games actually featured Ryo as the main character as he traveled through different digital worlds to save it or something. Then, he ended up being a titular character in the anime. But Ryo has a really complicated backstory that, if you didn't follow it or read up on it, you'd be terribly confused. XD I read a bit of it so I know a little but Ryo is a character who has been through a LOT. The backstory also explains a little as to why he was stuck in the digital world in the Tamers world as well.

Yea, the World series Ryo isn't a part of. Looking him up I see that it was a game for the Wonderswan (never heard of it..o3o,) and the game series was the tamer series (didn't know a tamer game series existed oAo)
