Once per season usually, it helps with,

Speed: Waxing your skis helps them glide faster and more consistently on the snow.
Smoothness: Waxing keeps your skis smooth and prevents the base and edges from feeling dry.
Water repellency: Wax helps your skis repel water, so they don't stick to the snow.
Ski health: Waxing prevents the base of your skis from drying out, shrinking, and whitening.

I used to work at the The Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta while I was in college :mchappy:

WOW I had like no idea. I’ve only skiied a few times in my entire life…probably only enough to fit one hand (I think I’ve only done it twice tbh). So we usually rent skis. But wow that’s so interesting!


Don’t forget to dress warmly when you go out!
