I'm so glad I'm gonna be working a job I love for the rest of my career.
I got a permanent position - not sure how that translates into English, I just don't have to renew my contract, so unless I screw up and get fired I will be working as a teacher here forever.
It's nice.

Lol speaking of job applications and questions, we have one too from what i know, for the retail kitchen apps. The last the question is something along the lines of “Can you work with raw meat?” Like its a KITCHEN, you’ll be working at a place that has an organic meat production facility at the back, you ARE going to encounter raw food products. And yet, people applying actually answer “NO” to that question. 8u like, its not a friggin trick question, if you want to work at this job, and you say you CAN’T work around raw food, then why the af are you applying??

The head of the retail kitchen always tells me that he doesn’t even look at the other questions first, he always goes to the very end and see if the applicant answered yes or no to the “raw meat/raw food” question. XD;; because essentially, that last question is asking “Do you want to work here?” and yet you answer “No” so whats the point of looking at the rest??

I don't like touching raw meat, but I still do it because I wanna cook and eat it. But agreed, why are they applying if they can't work around raw meat. I bet that question was added for a reason.

yeah like its a pretty straightforward question, like if you're applying for a job in a kitchen in an organic meat company, you'd need SOME experience working with raw food right? even when you're cooking on your own, you MUST have to encounter situations like that, unless you just eat takeout or something. so the fact that applicants actually answer "no" to a question that is pretty standard and something you would require to do AT YOUR JOB, then what's the point of applying? you're better off applying for a warehouse or office job or something. 8u

I didn't think I would post during the caravan, because I'm tired AF and not motivated, but hi everyone!

A math question of any sorts in an interview would gut me. I hate math, and suck at it; it's why I chose a job in languages, lmao.

And though raw meat grosses and stresses me out, if need be I can manipulate it; how can you work in any sort of kitchen if you can't do that, unless it's a vegetarian or vegan restaurant???

I had one math question
Person gives me $20 for a $12.50 transaction, what do I give them back?
$7.50
Apparently that fifty cents threw a looooooot of people off and they would give back something like $8.50

Hotarla, that's an smart question.
Also it's on the end (probably after a few irrelevant-looking questions) so people don't get it too much thought and answer honestly, which is what you want.

You ask my grandma who is about to turn 90 and she will answer correctly.
You ask people my age or younger, and some of them can't do a simple everyday substraction correctly.
It's certainly depressing, from a maths teacher point of view.

That reminds me of when the price is $4.90 so people think they are spending only $4, but really it's $5. I don't understand how people think like that. I always round up the dollar amount, even if the price is $4.10, I will tell people it's $5. (and probably end up being $5 when the tax gets included)

Moon: right? Like i work in the office/administration of this smallish italian organic meat company and they have a retail store out front, office upstairs and production facility at the back. Sounds like a lot but its actually not that big lol.

And like, the kitchen in retail needs helpers, its literally just the one head “chef” and an assistant. So the head “chef” is in charge of hiring more ppl for his section but the first thing he does is go to the very last question, to see if the applicants can work with “raw meat”…..the moment he sees a “No”, he goes to the next application. XD;;

EW math questions. 8u

I used to work in retail a few years ago and trust me when I say the registers were always off a few cents because people can't math out change.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.
