Chickens are awesome. People who don't were obviously deprived as children. They make cute noises and run away when you try to pet them and walk silly.

And the fluffy ones are called Silkies. ^^

I want chickens who stay when you want to pet them xD
I don't know what I like about chickens. They look so cuddly - and frankly I love everything with feathers of course. But chickens also have something soothing...

Yeah I just found them! "Zijdehoender" in Dutch. If they're compatible with Sebrights I want one or two of those too. I'm surprised that they don't cost a thing. o.O
I mean, just this afternoon I was looking at macaws, and most were between €1000,- and €2000,-... and the most expensive Silkie I've seen up to now was €15,-. o.O
Sebright eggs were like €0,50 each... if I knew how to make eggs hatch I'd have a shitload in no time. xD

Location: The US
At my school the first grade class gets to hatch eggs every year. You just have to get an incubator, it's pretty easy otherwise. Biggest thing is keeping it warm.

Right temperature, right moist level. Low hatching rate. And I don't have an incubator. And most of all, I fail with those things. >>
So it's safer to buy a chick, or even an adult hen.

I would think so, because I think you also need to rotate them two to three times a day. Or at least in some of the books I've read they did that with Fire Lizard eggs. :qhehe:

Yeah, Hagrid also puts his Norwegian Ridgeback egg in the fire to hatch, Arya teleported Saphira's egg so it dropped onto the forest floor where Eragon found it, put it in his back and bumped it around while running, tried to sell it as a rock, and then just touched it so it hatched, and Temmy was kept aboard a rocking ship. All things coming from books, which I don't suppose you should do to a chicken egg. :')

But this one happens to be right, it should be rotated. :p
