I 'updated' my resume today to apply for a job.


More like just shoved in that I'm volunteering at the library and starting tafe soon, as in next week.... though the dates on my resume just has the month and year xD

I'm gonna hate my breath later, but hell, it's delicious

That's clever, it helps that resumes are supposed to be short and only give neccessary amount of info, that way you can fool somebody without really lying XD
I think I have a similar thing somewhere in my CV

Toothbrush and toothpaste helps fix that bit :P


Well my resume is quite full, it's 2 pages.. but I feel I have to keep a lot of stuff on there still because I live in a different state of Australia to the one I used to live in..


Also I don't have my birthday on my resume. They can get my age from school possibly cause it has the year I graduated but tbh who's going to go through the time to work that out when most people just skim the reading of a resume.

I don't think it's necessary to give your birth date on your resume though? I was taught it's really optional. Do you have a photo included? I don't, but a lot of employers ust say "applications without a photo will not be considered" and I'm like, wtf, do you need a good assistant or just a pretty thing to look at?

Some people are taught to put birthday... personally I don't because I'm over 21. Anyone over 21 is put into the box where it's harder to get a job because I cost more to hire than the juniors.

I've been told not to use photos. I also refuse to. That takes up room on my resume I don't need taken up.

@River: Maybe your tooth pastes are better? Because no matter how much I brush my teeth after garlic, it stays to some extent

Yeah, I see offers that say they would prefer students, or that the offer is for students exclusively... After they finish their studies tho, they'll know our pain xD

I've been taught it used to be a thing you include, but nowadays it's not necessary. But as I said, depending for what position you're applying, you might have to make a copy with a photo just in case... Although I'm stubborn and I just don't apply to those things anymore, because appearance shouldn't be as important unless maybe you're on the front desk, plus I know I wouldn't be good at jobs that actually require nice looks, because they usually entail customer service of some sort... and I'm socially awkward -.-"

@jacob: Exactly, nobody reads CVs thoroughly or cover letters anyways. Why do people even require a cover letter if they don't want to read them? x.x

I still feel like I failed at life today

I don't like doing things that are essentially pointless... maybe that's my problem
