actually i have 13... and now 14 cuz i just snagged the doughnight knuffel. (didn't even name her yet. haha)
but they're not very high level. highest is 30. ^^;

30 is pretty good. Took me forever to get my first few to 30 XD (though my first 12 knuffel are leveling in their original element)

I think my highest right now is about 90? But I've been leveling knuffel for over 2 years. XD *so slow*

well, it's getting much harder to level past 25 or so actually. XD

You can level them however you want. When you dig outside the original element and find something you get like twice the exp. Sometimes I get like 22-24 exp per dig. That's why starting with my mushroom girl they're all a higher level than the first ones. ^^; It's slow starting, but once you get to like lvl 30 they level really fast.

Buuuut, when you level in the original element you get like 10 extra points to put into them so you have more than 100 dig points. That increases your chances of finding rare stuff (or so I hear).

O: is that true? about digging/leveling in the original element? xD;; I was never really sure...I mean, I'd sometimes dig outside of my element and get double the exp if I'm lucky...O:
