Yeah, for me, detail is clutter. I mean, when I draw my avvies, sometimes I think there isn't that much detail, but actually having to do it, I realize that there are a lot of little additions that make up the avatar, and it ends up feeling like a lot.

"Detail" and "Clutter" aren't synonymous though; not quite, but there is a correlation.

The contest entry is cluttered but at least you stick with a relative color scheme. I can't handle ones that have every color the site has to offer all at once.

Oh, dude, I kinda feel that. I am big on having matching colors, whether it's one color, or three, or six. There's a point when it gets too random though.

although i do agree that if you slap on a rainbow of colours, it would tend to look more cluttered that it actually is...xD
