I often get them on my legs but the most sensitive part is my upper arms. Most of the time I don't even know where they come from.
Thank god it's winter because I have a huge one on my left arm and it always attracts attention.

Except I'm going on a vacation on saturday and it involves swimsuits so it's going to show ...

You guys should mention the easy bruising to your doctors, because sometimes it's a sign that you're not getting enough iron, Vitamin C, and/or Vitamin K. It's pretty simple to check for that, and the fix is so easy, so it's worth finding out.

(There are lots of other possible reasons for it, just that we found out my mother was having issues with low iron and vitamin C, and it's made a big difference for her, and it's so easy & cheap to deal with! She's a dancer and thought it was just that she was getting more clumsy than usual as she aged, but nope!)

I can't exactly wear something more than a swimsuit under a wetsuit :p
But I'm going to do my best. I'm going to attract attention anyway so I might as well go all out ^^

I know the pain of iceskating /nods

@akili: Well, right now my doctor is more or less 10 000km away from me so let's say it'll have to wait a bit.
It'll wait until I have another reason to visit at least. (and until I can get someone to go with me because I don't speak Japanese that well and English/French speaker doctors are both rare and usually more expensive ^^)

Hm.
Well, one easy way to test for your iron levels is to try and give blood; they always check your iron levels first; if it's too low, they won't let you donate and will send you home, and you'll know. If they accept it, you'll know you're okay with iron and you'll have helped save lives, so it's a plus either way. And free. And you don't really need to speak much, and there are blood drives all over, so....

I'm not even going to try that because I know I'm going to be politely shown the door the minute I go in.
They want blood sure but they don't want to risk having problems with a foreigner.

And seriously, in France at least you need to answer so many questions I'm not even going to attempt it in Japanese.

Wow, I had no idea about that!
I do want to donate blood, but unfortunately I am a bit scared of needles, so until I can actually over come my fear I won't be able to :mccry:

Heh, okay, then. It was a thought. I guess if all the bruises don't really bother you that much, then there's no need anyhow!

Er, of course I've seen the needles? I give blood whenever they let me, because I'm an universal donor and apparently they can give my blood to infants because of something or another I've never understood...
It makes me so sad to think of infants needing blood!

Yes, my mom dances, she's very good (although I am biased in her favor, lol)! I love to see the costumes she makes for performances. One year she organized a tour of the senior centers and nursing homes and hospitals in the area, and they were doing a show that did a dance from each decade from 1880 to 1950, with a talk between each one to let the dancers have time to change costumes; it was so neat! I think I liked the 1920's dress the most. It was in the best "flapper" tradition!
