I tried to convert myself because I thought being spiritual would make me happy. I tried for some time but no matter how many bible studies and spiritual reflections I attended none of the stuff they told me truly made sense. It always sat in a really uncomfortable and uneasy spot for me and I couldn't put a finger on it. I'm just atheist/agnostic now :s
To me the universe is just so vast, amazingly complex and beautiful. It's overwhelming to believe that it was just a series of coincidences (based on theory) but still. I want to believe the scientific theories more than I believe in some God. Even if I did believe in a God, I don't imagine him as a typical God. Maybe it's a collective and we were some sort of experiment or they made us because they could and decided to leave us to our vices as opposed to forcing rules upon us.
Science is my lover though. It makes my great skip beats.

@Errissa: Do your parents know that you no longer consider yourself muslim? It's too hot to wear leggings in the Summer. I've always wondered if Muslim ladies had some secret to staying cool in the summer.
