Your powers are in the realm of scrying, although some might argue for prognostication. You can concentrate upon a single question or event or person, and lift your specially-attuned-to-you seashell to your ear. After sinking into a meditative trance, the sound of your own heartbeat echoing in its nautical chamber begins to be obscured by other noises; soft at first but increasingly clearly come the audible portions of the event you concentrated upon (no matter how far distant in location or time), or the voice of the person you meditate over. Thinking about a question is more difficult, but with great effort you have trained yourself to distinguish sounds and voices and events relevant to the answer to your question. Harder yet is the task of correctly interpreting what you hear.
