Yeah when I had my space heater in my room going my cats were in my room

I don’t have cute fluffy animals hogging heat lol.

My fluffy animals are the heat source. Add a blanket, add a cat. hardly need a heater after that!

The heater in my room attracts my cats, especially after I (mostly) shut the door
Even after I turn it off and the room slowly cools to match the rest of the upstairs they won't move. Because they're comfy

Currently don't have a doorknob on my door because it was needed for a different door and that room didn't have a doorknob because my one niece would intentionally lock herself out for bedtime and dad decided after the first time that doorknob goes bye-bye and now we can't find that doorknob
The doorknob i had doesn't have a lock system, which surprised dad. Only one other than the basement door that doesn't have one

Lol I see. My door does have a knob but there’s no locking mechanism. The master bedroom does have a locking doorknob tho.

I grew up with doors that had no locking mechanism except for the bathroom. I learned later in life that it was super uncommon.

Well I don’t particularly mind that bedrooms don’t have locks. Or places like the laundry room or kitchen.

A lot of older houses I've been in only had locks on the bathroom and the rest of the house just had doorknobs. I don't know if society has gotten more private and comfortable with declaring personal space, or has gotten more violent and is now stricter about setting boundaries with physical locks. Or, more benign, sneaky wee toddlers always into mischief must be locked out of places more likely to have harmful things like cleaning chemicals and sharp objects!

Its probably a combination of locks becoming more accessible with newer doors and door knobs and child safety.

My grandmother had a super old house that still had the fancy rounded door knobs that had key holes and used skeleton keys
