Actually I did some diving in April so I guess it counts.
Most public pools here only open from July 1st and the other ones can mostly just be accessed with a membership to a gym, which is way too expensive for me.
So I'll wait until a week-end I'm free and go to the beach.

The closest to water I've been is the shower right now. XD

@twilight I know how you feel. I need to learn to swim and I'm an adult.

Once I get paid I'll take my daughter to the zoo and we can go to the water park.

I just realized that "take out" means food, dating, and murder. And if you were a female praying mantis you'd have all three.

I used to go for swimming classes back in school, but they shut that pool down when a kid died in it :( Since then I've only gone swimming in the pool in my apartment complex, and no one seems to use that, so it's pretty much just few of us.

Since I could swim I couldn't go to swimming classes in school; too expensive to move that many students to there, and had to run laps outside in the winter. Not a good memory.

And having a pool in your appartment complex is amazing, I've never seen that.

Only two weeks and 2 days left before I'm on vacation and can enjoy the sea for a few days <3

I'm actually living in the seaside XD
Problem is, I still need an hour travelling to get to a nice beach, everything here is concrete (and dirty). That's what you get from living in the city.

that still sounds reasonably easy to visit a beach when you want! i feel you on the cities though. i've always lived in cities and the few times i've visited quieter, greener places i've bemoaned how ugly and unhealthy cities are.

Can't say I remember all of those gory details, but I do remember the ridiculous amount of warm-up and there was this one time when he made me run 25 rounds around the swimming pool for throwing a leaf into the pool and I ran 25 circles around myself and came back.

It's really easy. All you need is time and not hate crowds XD

I've lived in the countryside all my life, have been in the city for 2 and I'm already thinking of moving somewhere else.

@twilightmist
Here we have some pools at the stadium that are dedicated to swimming practice and that's where most people learn to swim. There are mostly kids lessons but I'm sure you could ask one of the trainers to help - guess there has to be something similar in your city...
