Only time we had to prewash was if the stuff was stuck on with the old one
Until it got old and broke, flooding the kitchen. Then it became a moving shelf and glorified drying rack

Yeah, nowadays you only have to remove the scraps from the plates (so they don't clog the dishwasher) and put them in. Done.
Still in my house only dishes, glasses/cups and cuttlery go in the dishwasher.
Hubby prefers handwashing pots and other stuff.
Mostly because we don't have many of those.

That's how I like it since I really only have one set of pots and pans too, so if they go in the dishwasher, I'll have to turn around and get them out to clean again to use again. I only put other things in the dishwasher when it is almost full and I just wanna make the most out of running it lol.

That's exactly how we do it too.
Because otherwise we'd have to run it twice a day to ensure having clean pots at all times... and it's not worth it in a family of three.

I don’t think i’ve ever seen a dishwasher or washing machine overflow. I mean, its like TERRIBLE if that happened but like….this is the sorta thing that gets overexaggerated in tv shows and i kinda want to see that kind of over-exaggeration. XD;; like just foamy bubbles everywhere lol.

I know the dishwasher in my childhood home once overflowed, but that was like the only time I've seen it happen. My sister had to get her old one fixed a few times, but it was an older model. Never seen a washing machine overflow before though. I feel like just saying that will curse me and mine will overflow and leak the next time I use it.
