Deer are so pretty. I like seeing them. And I’m glad they don’t wander around my area or we’d have more problems. But seeing them is cool.

They tend to cross the roads without looking. That's pretty dangerous.
But the ones who are used to humans are just as pesky as squirrels, they won't hesitate to munch on your bags to get the food they think is inside.
And some are very stupid.
But they're very cool looking.
My cat did catch a mole one day.
She caught a bat too. And a few snakes. I hated that so much XD

Deer, possums, skunks, and foxes are the most common wildlife here. At least if I go by the roadkill I see
I've seen bunnies but never as roadkill
Various forms of wasps, including ball hornets, of which I had a nest dad was working on split into two more so I had to call a professional cuz these two are on the house itself because three ball hornet nests in 50 feet of each other is dangerous. Hell, dad's lucky the one didn't go into attack mode on him, considering how close he got to it while mowing my lawn. The exterminator was going to do it tomorrow but between how close he is to me, the type of nasty wasp ball hornets are, and the time (evening, still tons of daylight but the bees all coming in), he changed his mind and came right on over. Suited up and everything because ball hornets are that nasty. Sprayed the house. Hit all three nests multiple times to where the hornets were just pouring out
If there's any activity in any of them come Tuesday I call again

I'll wish you luck that you got them all the first time!
Those things are nasty.
It's on my bucket list to do one of the tours around the Florida Keys national parks and see the tiny native key deer. The notion of miniature deer just sounds too fun not to try and witness at least once.

Small deers are SO cute but SO fast, maybe even faster than the big ones.
I've seen a Kyon/Muntjac once, it was adorable but so fast I honestly wasn't sure what I saw before I asked the hotel staff.

I’m glad that the fences here are tall enough that larger wildlife can’t get in. XD
I think we had chipmunks before but they were pests too llol.

I had to search what a Kyon/Muntjac was and I want to see those now too!!
There's something so incredibly appealing about small critters.
Except roosters.
Those are terrifying even if they're supposedly "small critters".
Roosters are nightmare fuel.
(probably just a personal issue; I know plenty of people who have a rooster and seem to manage just fine. I'm not one of those people.)

The biodiversity of cities is starting to sound terrifyingly low, Hotarla! Is it truly mostly just humans, with some domesticated housepets, a few birds adapted to city life, and squirrels/chipmunks/mice/rats??
That's disturbingly few types of critters.
What about all the different kinds of amphibians, at least? Reptiles? Do cities have snakes and toads and frogs and salamanders and lizards? They must, no?
