I can't say I've had many western soups. I have a lot of asian vegetable ones where you throw it into a pot with some seasoning and it takes like 30 mins to make.

My favourite soup is tom yum soup, minus the prawns lol

I think my favorite soup is lentils, cooked to soft, then you sautee up cilantro and garlic and add them last minute to the lentils and serve.
Goes great with some fresh chopped tomatoes, too, but that's the basics of it.
A little harissa for seasoning, maybe, if you're feeling fancy.

Everyone's avatar is so cute today! Wow!

I reallllly liked the cruise that I went on. It was surprisingly affordable. Like 1000ish for a week long trip. That includes all the food and everything. Doesn't cover soda though. Or excursions. You can get off the boat, but you don't get to go on the trips. But the trips aren't super expensive either.

I hope that we get to go on one again soon.

I don't think I've ever eaten an Asian soup. Well, besides miso. I really like miso soup.

What is harissa? I don't think I've eaten lentils before. They look good.

Harissa is a spice mix that has a fair amount of variance depending on region/recipe.
Kind of like 'curry' is a spice mix that usually has a few basic things in common but still varies rather widely.

The one I use is roasted red peppers, dried and ground (main ingredient right there) plus roasted caraway seeds, coriander seeds, garlic, and cumin, also ground (dry the garlic first) and mixed with the roasted red peppers. Sometimes I put in black pepper too, but mostly just that first set.
Sometimes when you try and buy it, it comes in a paste instead of a powder mix, and it's mostly red chilis instead.
So it can vary a lot!

I wanna go to disney world! So jealous!

Well it was 1k for two people. Meals and board included. So not bad at all. A week's vacation, going to two other countries, a bunch of shows and entertainment, interesting and new food, all for 500 bucks per person? Totally and completely worth it.

Interesting. Sounds pretty tasty to me.

Oh wow, that is really cheap for a holiday! *A*
It's weird that soda isn't included. You'd think it would be food + bev.
I think I spent a total of $4000 aud (~3000usd) on my 2.5 week holiday in Japan.

Oh, I also forget, kimchi soup is really delicious too. If you ever go to a korean restaurant get it. It appears under kimchi jigae. Provided you like kimchi.

Indeed. It's really great if you want to go to other countries too!

Well you got water, coffee, milk, tea, and juice free. Booze and soda wasn't free. You could get unlimited soda for a fee that wasn't horrible but we didn't want to spend it.
And you can bring as much soda as you want on board. Only two bottles of booze though.

That's not too terrible at all. I want to go to Japan so bad!
Hopefully that's in the cards semi soon. Maybe in the next couple years. I'd want to spend a ton of time there. But I don't think that we would have enough time off to do more than a couple of weeks.

I've never had kimchi before. I'm kind of scared to try it. I feel like I wouldn't like it much at all. I dislike cabbage a lot.

At what countries did the cruise ship stop? I would love to go but I'm unsure if I get sea sick because I get car and bus sick, not train sick nor plane sick.

People go for the unlimited booze. At least from what I've heard from friends on cruise ships xD

We didn't buy a JR pass though because we only stayed in Tokyo and booking an airbnb instead of a hotel made accommodation cheap as well. We got direct flights from Japan airlines for $900 aud (their seats have more leg room for my absurdly tall bf). Usually people hit up the $400-$500 return flight sales but the dates are limited and it's shitty indirect 21hr flights. I aint up for that. Our flight only 9hrs.

Don't worry, I hate cabbage too (and lettuce) but having kimchi changes the texture. I also love the spicy, tangy, fermented flavour.

Holidays are awesome and I'm so jelly!!!

Usually people go for the booze cause they probably drink lots! I wouldn't cause I don't drink much, but I probs would've got the soda one XD !!
If I went with friends I would've got the soda, they could've got the booze, and we could've shared XD

I wish to go on a cruise and to Japan *o*
