higher education is free in Poland. We have private schools and unis but they're not the most highly valued. Warsaw and Cracow (Jagiellonian) unis are the best in rankings etc.

I never understood the concept of student loans that are so prevalent in the US. Why the hell should you get in debt for education? Fuck that shit :mcargh:

Not only is my school expensive, it's 100% online. I had to ask to extend my loans this semester because they didn't give me enough loan money to cover tuition. They extended it, and then I realized that they didn't give me enough money to buy my books. They gave me a grant, and I'm thankful that they don't make us repay those unless I don't make good grades.

I have one more summer semester to graduate. I'll have 60k in debt. My therapist was like lol I only have 1k-2k left and I tried really hard to not be mad at him. X_X

I understand inflation, as our collective lack of valuing things we buy (the consumer mentality) leads to money becoming less and less valuable. I just really hate how those big ass companies make use of this to keep pumping up their prices. :}

Colleges where I live add more money to tuition when they build new buildings and things like parking garages.

Since I'm online, I also have to pay to proctor exams if they require them for testing. We don't get the heads up until classes start sometimes.

I could complain for HOURS about how expensive things are in my city - I hate it so much.

I'm currently trying to buy a house so that I don't end up homeless (getting the sense my landlord wants to kick me out) but the prices are totally unaffordable and it's stressing me out so bad

All I want is a little flat, how do FAMILIES cope with the cost of living?

I don't cope very well. I have a job and my parents look straight through it because it's not the job they want me to have. It's really upsetting sometimes lol.

With my income I would not even be able to mortgage a storage shed in my hometown, that is how stupidly expensive my place of residence is.
My best friend has a really good income, but as she got divorced this year her single income is not even enough to buy a 'cheap' category house. It is crazy. :}
