What a specious argument. People might be more likely to show up with aches and pains after they get older but it's not exclusive to age!! Ugh, and to accuse you of faking it...
I'm not much liking the sounds of your aunts. :( Sounds like a good thing they don't visit much!
We see patients here who are still too young to go to school and if you look at their xrays, their bones are already as worn out as those in the xrays of some of our patients in their 60s. Which is terrifying and sad, but really proves that pain is not the sole province of the elderly. Honestly I keep hoping for new medicinal advances because the outlook of some of the younger patients is depressing. Weirdly enough I feel more sorry for their parents, though. The kids themselves seem fairly blase about the whole thing; their parents look haggard.
