I was thinking it had been a while since we had a lost item. I'm glad I managed to get it. Somehow, I had this feeling that today was the day I should do more than just refresh and never come back.

I'm sure that it's 24 hours and not just a small window, though I guess I wouldn't know if it's longer since I usually pick it up really quick.

Me too.
I would say it should be at least 24 hours, so everybody can get it - even if they live in different timezones.
But maybe no longer than 24 hours? That would be an encouragement to log in daily...
