To summarize things, Lost items appear to everyone for a few days and fairies appear only to one user at a random time and gives you a random item.
Looking up "fairy" in the dream avatar creator should give show you what items series there are.

That's why I'm grabbing up all of these more recent hairs so that I don't forget to get them. I got the one color I knew I'd use first. I think I'm just now getting around to the green shades now.
